Are you an Apple lover?

Perhaps you’ve been a fan for a while or maybe you’ve just jumped on board with the latest MacBook Pro 16 inch. It’s easy to see why people opt to go with Apple products.

One of the key benefits is that they are all integrated into an ecosystem that makes your life easier. From storing your files in the iCloud so you can access and save from any device to being able to connect AirPods to MacBook, it’s hard not to love Apple products and services.

Airpods are just the latest cool device to be added to the Apple ecosystem. Trying to figure out how to use them?

Here’s are some tips to get you started.

Connect Airpods to Macbook Pro

What Are Airpods?

Airpods are wireless headphones developed by Apple. They use Bluetooth to enable you to listen to music and videos on your iPhone, iPad and Mac computers – and other devices. It’s, therefore, important that you fix any errors regarding MacBook Pro bluetooth not available before you try to connect your Airpods.

Airpods go further than just allowing you to listen to audio and video. They also have a microphone in-built. This means you can make phone calls and use Apple’s voice assistant Siri.

Versions of Airpods

There are several different versions of Airpods that have subsequently been released. There are two generations of Airpods, the second version has a higher sound quality with a better chip. They also have a ‘hey Siri’ function where you can activate Siri by simply saying ‘Hey Siri’.

The latest version of AirPods is the AirPods Pro. They are smaller and fit into the ear more easily. They also have a noise transparency feature that can cancel out background noise to improve the quality of your calls.

Why Airpods and Not Regular Headphones

Airpods have many advantages over regular headphones. They fit into your ears snugly and are not big and bulky. They also come with a handy charging case so that your AirPods always have battery life.

This case is small enough for you to attach it to a keyring or to place inside your bag so that you never lose it.

Talking of losing your AirPods, they also come with technology so that you can locate them using Find My Devices if you ever misplace them.

They also contain added features such as a microphone and the ability to skip songs by simply tapping on the side. This makes them much more convenient than regular headphones.

Normal headphones would require you to open up your iPhone or computer to skip to the next song or make a phone call.

Pairing Your AirpodsWith Your Mac

To pair your AirPods, you can open them up for the first time when you are logged onto your MacBook computer.

You will be prompted to begin the pairing process as the computer can detect when a new pair of Airpods is nearby and once you open the lid on the charging case.

The instructions will prompt you to press the button that is located on the back of the charging case. You should then go back to your Mac and press the Apple button that is located on the menu bar.

From there you should select the system preferences and then the Bluetooth option. In the Bluetooth menu, you should now see your AirPods as an option to pair with your Mac.

You can also enable ‘Hey Siri’  from this menu if you have second-generation AirPods or Airpods Pro.

Now your AirPods should be ready to use.

Pairing Your Airpods With Your iPhone

If you want to pair your AirPods with your iPhone, the process is similar. Open the lid and an image of the Airpods should appear on the iPhone screen prompting you to connect them.

If this does not work, press the button on the back of the AirPods case and then navigate to the settings menu. From here you can select Bluetooth and connect.

If you are planning on using your Airpods with both your iPhone and your Mac, then you will need to navigate to the Bluetooth menu in settings to connect them each. You will hear a sound indicating that the AirPods are no longer connected with the Mac and are instead connected with your iPhone.

Now you can listen to audiobooks, music and make phone calls on-the-go. Remember you will need a mobile data package if you wish to stream music while you are out of range of a WiFi network.
